It is a real 1:1 cutting template, drawn from your inside size and board thickness, which is what you need for proofs, samples and quotes. Every factory has its own allowances, so before manufacturing have your printer validate bleed, board caliper, folds, cut tolerances, glue areas, tooling, grain direction where relevant, and printer-specific requirements.

Preview & Download also exports the dieline as a 1:1 vector PDF with your artwork, bleed and cut and crease lines, and the cutting template on its own as SVG (for Illustrator, Inkscape and Affinity) or DXF (for CAD programs, die makers and cutting tables), with cut and crease lines on separate layers. Validate production files with your printer before manufacturing.

Yes, for every box template and at no cost. In Preview & Download, open the Dieline tab and choose SVG or DXF. Both are drawn at 1:1 in millimetres, with cut lines in red on a CUT layer and crease lines dashed in blue on a CREASE layer. The DXF is R12, which almost every CAD program and cutting table reads.

Yes. Preview & Download → Video exports an MP4 video of 6, 10 or 15 seconds (1080p, made in your browser). Choose fold and turn (flat to closed, then one turn), turntable, or open and close (the lid opens as the box turns), on a studio, white or any colour background. Turntable and open and close loop seamlessly. It uses your artwork, material and lighting, so you can drop it into a product page, an ad or a social post. Custom camera paths are not available yet.

Signed-in V2 projects are stored with your account so designs can be reopened later. Uploaded media used by projects is stored in the product's cloud media workflow. Treat any confidential customer artwork according to your own organization's data-handling requirements.

The website and project library are responsive, while the full Studio is most comfortable on a larger screen because packaging artwork and 3D controls need space. Mobile and tablet behavior is being improved, but desktop remains the best environment for detailed editing.

No screen preview can guarantee press color. Browser previews are RGB and depend on display calibration, materials, lighting, inks, paper, coating, and the printer's process. Use the Studio for visual review, then validate final color through the printer's proofing workflow.

Yes. The rigid lid and base box template draws the base and lid wraps from the inside size of the base, with corner ears and turn-ins, and sizes the lid to fit over the base for your board thickness. Lid height and turn-in depth are adjustable, and the 3D view shows the lid lifting off.

Yes. Supported templates use editable finished width, height, and depth, and the current Studio supports millimeters and inches. The 2D layout and 3D structure update from the same template dimensions.

Yes, when the structure is available as a supported template. You can set its finished size, design the flat layout, inspect panel artwork in 3D, and review its template-specific folding or opening behavior.

The current Studio includes visual presets such as white board, kraft, soft touch, matte coated, gloss coated, and foil, plus outside and inside color controls. These are visualization aids rather than physical print or substrate proofs.

For supported structures, the Studio uses the template geometry and finished dimensions to create the flat layout used for artwork and visualization. This is generated from 3D Box Studio's own supported structures; external dieline importing is not part of the current product.
